Mental Health Therapy for Trauma & C-PTSD

"Trauma is not what happens to you, but what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you" Dr. Gabor Maté. That's why talk therapies are not as effective in processing what is still 'stuck' inside of you, in your body. Through somatic body-based therapies, the trauma can finally be processed and then released.

Trauma and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD) can deeply impact how your ability to fully engage in the life that you want. We can experience trauma as children and as adults in our families, communities, as well as through colonial violence, oppression, war and environmental disasters. Complex trauma emerges when we experience multiple traumas over a period of time.

Trauma that has not been processed can lead to many physical and mental health issues such as chronic pain, headaches and gut issues, as well as nightmares, avoidance, over-reacting, and emotional numbness among others. These symptoms can seriously impact your ability to be in relationships and to live the life that you are wanting.
